PAUL'S BLOG Early Spring Busyness

This morning, while walking in the fields at the Meads, I was invigorated by the energy the wildlife around me exhibited in preparing for Spring. I used the Merlin android app to identify bird call and watched the clean flow of the Durleigh brook as it rippled down in its journey towards the town, healthy weed plants filtering the water. I enjoyed the sensation of earthen clods under my walking boots causing me to strain as I traversed the fields to my destination.
Like the birds of the fields in their busyness in preparation for nest building, my wife and I are readying ourselves for the challenge of increased activity at our workplaces, and the start of various home improvement projects. I am also seeking new energy in my creative writing, to bring more to the page as I continue crafting my second full-length novel.
Yet the reminder is always there, embedded within us by our Creator, not to neglet the people He has brought into our lives in love and service, and not to neglet the natural world of which He has made us stewards. It's often difficult to balance where we channel our energies, but He can help us to be whole people who are a blessing to our neighbours, communities and at large.
